About Us

Over the past few years, advancement in technology has led to a sea change in the world of ophthalmology. To make the most of this progress, we wanted to capitalise on the potential of a super specialty Eye Care Clinic in North Mumbai. That is how we conceptualised Insight Vision, earlier known as Insight Eye & Laser Centre, on the 15th of April 2012.

It was founded with an idea to emerge as a State of the Art Hospital equipped with cutting edge technology for a comprehensive approach to Eye care for people from all walks of life.

Dr. Sudhir Sudrik

DNB – Ophthalmology, MNAMS, FMRF | Consultant Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon | Retina Fellow, Sankara Nethralaya (Chennai) 

Dr. Sudhir specializes in the treatment of Vitreo-Retinal disorders, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Uvea & Inflammatory Eye diseases, Glaucoma, and Retinopathy of Prematurity.  Starting from his early days of residency and his tenure with Sankara Nethralaya Dr. Sudhir has contributed to the profession by writing several research papers that have been published in national & international journals.

Key Achievements

His paper on Childhood Blindness in Maharashtra was awarded the Best Post-Graduate Paper at State Conference - MOSCON in 2004 and was later published by the British Journal of Ophthalmology in 2006.

Later on, he also co-authored a book chapter on Retinoblastoma in Tumours of the Eye (Ocular Oncology).

He also received the coveted Prof. Bhatawdekar Award for Best Post-Graduate Student during his residency tenure.

Beyond the sphere of medicine, he pursues keen  interest in photography and is an fitness enthusiast and a marathoner. Having a keen interest in Diabetes and its Ocular-Inflictions, Dr. Sudhir along with other specialists, conduct campaigns to bring the diabetes epidemic under control by means of didactic lectures, awareness programs, and social media platforms. Committed to delivering quality healthcare through professional excellence and ethical practice in a homely environment, he founded the Insight Eye Care & Laser Centre with his wife and partner Dr. Amruta Padhye Sudrik in 2012. Both continue to serve the community at the finest Super-Specialty Eye Hospital in suburban Mumbai.

Dr. Amruta Padhye Sudrik

DNB – Ophthalmology, MNAMS, FICO (UK) | Consultant Ophthalmologist | Phaco & Refractive Eye Surgeon

Hailing from Mumbai, Dr. Amruta finished her schooling as a topper to study medicine & graduated from a renowned national Medical College in Mumbai in 2004. She further obtained her Diplomate of National Board of Ophthalmology while serving at H. V. Desai Hospital, Pune in 2007. 

Key Achievements

She was awarded the Fellowship of the International Council of Ophthalmologists - UK in 2008 as well as F.I.C.O. (UK) while working at Rajan Eye Care Hospital as a Consultant Ophthalmologist in 2009.

She has authored & co-authored several research papers on the Prevalence of Uncorrected Refractive Errors & Other Eye Problems among Urban & Rural School children which were published in the Middle East African Journal of Ophthalmology.

She has remained proactive in the field and made several presentations, at Coimbatore in 2009; at ALOC Kolkata in January 2010; and at Boston in April 2010.

Since the early days of her residency, she had developed a keen interest in the field of Paediatric Ophthalmology. During her fieldwork for her dissertation on the Prevalence of Uncorrected Refractive Errors in Urban & Rural School Children, she came across a whole new genre of treatable blindness in young kids and since then has been doing extensive work through various camps & awareness programs, screening about 25,000 school children till date for refractive errors.

Success isn’t about how much money you make, it’s about the difference you make in people’s lives. A true believer of the above quote, she strives daily to bring a smile onto one face at least, foregoing the limits of her chair time as she believes in the power of a strong patient-doctor bonding and its pivotal role in shaping and molding a better tomorrow.

My friend suggested after her cataracts laser surgery having very good experience with the staff and Doctor at Insight Vision.I too decided to have my cataract surgery at Insight Vision done. The staff and Doctor were very cooperative, they explain very well. I did my right eye cataract on 15th Nov and left eye cataract on 21 Nov. There is no pain and recovery also faster. I personally saw all patient coming outside OT. smiling.Highly recommended for eyes sight problem.

I strongly recommend Dr Amruta and Team for their effort and understanding the patient’s requirements and maintaining good relationship .. I was wearing glasses with 4.75 negative power from last 25 years and after lasik surgery I got my 20/20 vision and I can see everything crystal clear and wear whatever sunglasses I like without any pain or irritation the process was smooth and she guided me very clearly from A-Z.Initially I was very skeptical about the process as had heard negative feedback on lasik from other people who had done the process from some other places though. But Dr. Amruta made me feel very comfortable and she only performed the lasik once I was positive about it.I highly recommend her for the process.They are actually doing it with intentions to help people and not with the intentions of making money. Highly Patient centric.

I had undergone PRK Surgery two weeks back which is a Number Reduction Procedure at Insight Vision Eye Care and Laser Centre.Pre surgery, Dr. Amruta explained me about all the options available to me and their pro and cons as well. She cleared all my queries and confusion with logical reasoning and explained me the process of the surgery.Dr.Sudhir also did a great job in performing retinal laser procedure.During the surgery, Dr. Amruta assured that I am comfortable. She kept explaining me about the step she was going to do and the time required for the same. She kept on motivating me by telling me how good I am performing and how well the surgery is being conducted. This motivated me a lot and it really vanished all my nervousness. The surgery went smooth.Post surgery, my routine checkup was done quite frequently. Dr. Amruta along with other staff reviewed my recovery process. Both the doctors Dr.Amruta and Dr.Sudhir are very polite,humble and co-operative.Insight Vision Eye Care & Laser Centre is really commendable. Thanks to Doctor duo. I felt it as a magic and not a surgery. No pain, no swelling, no bandage after an operation. The operation theatre floor is coated with Floor paint. It is most advanced feature. The overall management of clinic is very soothing. The staff is very disciplined and the facility is having many instruments, so the waiting time is minimised drastically. I am fully satisfied.
